A few months ago Akon dubbed Jeffree Star “the male version Lady Gaga” after signing him to his label Kon Live Distribution. The internet celebrity turned singer-songwriter is gearing up to release his first major label album and he’s enlisting the help of someone who knows exactly how to make a hit record… Ke$ha mom, Pebe Sebert.
You might be thinking… what does Ke$ha’s mom know about writing hit records? It turns out she knows a lot. Pebe is actually a singer-songwriter herself. She has penned a few of Ke$ha’s biggest hits including “Your Love Is My Drug” and “We R Who We R.” Pebe even wrote the popular song ”Old Flames Can’t Hold a Candle to You” for country legend Dolly Parton.
Ke$ha’s mom is no rookie when it comes to songwriting. Jeffree is definitely in good hands. According to Star’s Twitter account, the two have been writing together for three days. There’s some sort of “slow dance jam” in the works.
So how did Jeffree connect with Ke$ha’s mom? Ke$ha and Jeffree are very good friends. The pop songstress prominently featured Star in the flashy alternate K$ n’ Friends version of her ”Take It Off” music video. Remember the dance battle in the clip? That was Jeffree who hit the dance floor with her.
The first single from Star’s major label debut album, “Best. Night. Ever.,” drops later this summer!
