The Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection is forcing Reebok to issue $25 million in refunds to consumers who purchased their EasyTone products because apparently.. they do NOT give you the nice butt that they promise to. If you bought them, you can get a refund. Find out how, right here.

Soon after Sketchers Shape Ups hit the market, other sneaker companies followed in their footsteps (no pun intended) because of how successful it was. Reebok came out with a line of products called EasyTone. The new sneakers came complete with a series of commercials in which the camera keeps focusing on the woman’s butt. Of course we are supposed to believe that if we wear these shoes, we’re going to look just like her. YEAH RIGHT.

According to an investigation by the Federal Trade Commission’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, Reebok has been lying!

According to the FTC complaint, which was filed in federal court on Wednesday, Reebok falsely asserted specific numerical claims, saying, for example, that walking in EasyTone shoes had been proven to lead to 11 percent greater strength and tone in hamstring muscles than regular walking shoes.
Marketing campaigns, no matter how clever, sexy or funny, must start and must stick with product claims that are substantiated.”
