Ne-Yo Tells ‘X-Factor’ Winner Melanie Amaro Not To Be Like Britney Spears?

[photogallerylink id=214951] If anyone is going to give the newly crowned ‘X-Factor’ winner [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Melanie Amaro [/lastfm]tips, I guess it’s cool that it’s coming from[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Ne-Yo[/lastfm]! We know Ne-Yo for what he can do on stage and off. He’s been in the business for a long time. That’s why he wanted to give advice to Melanie before she’s out in all the craziness. So what exactly did he mean by don’t “be like [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Britney Spears[/lastfm]?” Let me fill you in…

Right after Ne-Yo performed on the X-Factor Finale, reporters were asking what he wanted to tell Melanie. Ne-Yo said, “Make sure you keep— that big family that she has— keep them close because they’ll keep you grounded. They’ll keep your head right. Yes men, you’ll get no points for those. See what they did to Britney. See what happens.”

Ne-Yo was telling Melanie to watch out for those people that will tell her whatever she wants to hear. The “yes” people she’s probably going to find herself surrounded by now that she’s in the entertainment biz. Do you think it was harsh of Ne-Yo to call Britney Spears out like that or was he just looking out for a newbie- on the scene? What advice do you give Melanie?

My only advise is to remain humble and how things were for her before the win. The Melanie that she was should continue to remain the same regardless of her fame and fortune now. It is always so quick to forget where we came from.

Good advice. By the way, are you from the Bay Area, too? Because I am a East Bay resident who supported Melanie Amaro during the entire “X Factor” season and you are commenting on a Bay Area radio station’s website.
