What: Celebrate Mardi Gras Parade

Where: Starts at Octavia & Hayes (Place Pigalle), With second line feat. Jazz Mafia, Monophonics, Members of Extra

Action Marching Band
When: 5:00 pm
Cost: Free
The rundown: Join the second line and dance down the streets of San Francisco behind natives Jazz Mafia and

Monophonics as well as members of Oakland’s Extra Action Marching Band.  (It might be too cold for semi-nakedness from Extra Action, but you never know.)

The march will funk its way down to Brick & Mortar Music Hall for an 8 p.m. performance by Jazz Mafia and Monophonics, this with a $10-$13 cover.

What: Fat Tuesday in the Fillmore
Where: All over the Fillmore
When: 6 p.m.
Cost: Varies

The rundown: Everyone loves a party, and no party is more insane than Fat Tuesday. The Fillmore plans to do it up right tonight with special deals on food and drink throughout the neighborhood. With the purchase of a $5 wristband, you’ll get cheap-o drinks and eats at places like Gussie’s Chicken and Waffles, Rasselas Jazz Club, Yoshi’s, and more. In addition, they’ll have live music, face painting, stilt walking, giveaways, and a free concert with Bobbie Webb accompanied by the Smooth Blues Crew from 5-7 p.m. Happy Mardi Gras, party people!

What: Celebrate Mardi Gras New Orleans-style at Santana Row’s Roux Louisiana Kitchen!
When: 7 p.m. to Midnight
Cost: Varies

The rundown: Dance to a DJ and enjoy $10 Hurricanes, appetizer specials and Roux’ Creole and Cajun cuisine including Etouffe, Gumbo and Jambalaya.

Where: Mazzanine
When: 9 p.m.
Cost: $15-$20

The rundown: Get ready to roast your bones in bourbon and beads w/ Zigaboo Modeliste & the New Ahhkestra featuring Skerik, Extra Action Marching Band, Motion Potion. This event is 21 and over.

The rundown: $2 Well drinks and $5 calls and premiums from 10pm-11pm! Parti Gras Bead Contest: The 5 ladies with the most beads will be entered into a contest to win cash prizes from $25-$150!
