Producer, artist, and songwriter Mike Posner is back with a new single “On Top of the World,” a brand new record in 2014 and great cause and message for both.

For his upcoming album “Pages,” Posner wanted to give back to the world. With a quote from the Dalai Lama in his head and some bad airline food in his stomach he came up with a way do just that with a portion of the proceeds from Pages going feed children.

“The idea was this.” explained Posner, “To make an album and for every album that I sell to serve a meal to a child. One for one.”

The “Cooler Than Me” performer has spent much of his career writing and producing for other artists from Big Sean, Justin Bieber, 2 Chainz to Big Time Rush, Austin Mahone and more. On his most recent single “On Top of the World,” the Detroit native went back to his roots and collaborated with longtime friend Big Sean.

“Big Sean really put me in the game. So I met Sean when I was in high school. He came to my mom’s house and I played him some beats. I started making beats for him.”

“My parents are in the video – after some convincing. My big sister. We got to shoot at my elementary school with the first graders. We got to shoot at my high school.”

On the positive message of his new single the multi-talented Posner said it was simple:

“We are often told not to follow are dreams. In my life everything has worked out when I followed my heart and dreams. When I haven’t done that everything has not worked out. I just wanted to share my story and what has worked for me to kids younger than me.”
