All together, we’re stronger together. We locals know that mantra not only because it’s the new Giants motto, but also because we believe it. And apparently, some celebs do too. Today is opening day for Major League Baseball, so we put together a list of eleven celebrities (some you may know and some you probably do not) who are also San Francisco Giants fans, from music to movies to even other sports. See any surprises on here? We know we do!

1. Colin Hanks

The actor (and son of Tom Hanks, who was born in Concord, California) is an avid Giants fan. He even has an opinion or two about the 2010 season, and tried to prove his loyal fan status at the MLB fan cave.

2. Rob Schneider

Comedian and actor Schneider was born in San Francisco, and he always shows his colors during baseball season, even on his Facebook fan page.

Though Deschanel is a Los Angeles native, she is a big Giants fan. She made it to every 2010 playoffs game and sang “God Bless America” when they played the Phillies for the National League championship. Then, in 2012 she sang the national anthem during the World Series. According to Complex, she even manager her own fantasy league baseball team, called the “Burbank Puppies.” Awww…

4. Danny Glover

The actor and San Francisco local has long been a Giants fan, who is notoriously serious about his seats and not being bothered during a game.

5. Robin Williams

Williams is another comedian and actor living in the Bay Area who loves the Giants. He’s even been known to get a little affectionate with Lou Seal.

6. Colin Kaepernick

The 49ers quarterback was given a chance to throw the opening pitch in June last year, and he didn’t just toss it—he threw an 87 mph fastball. Kaep went to high school in Turlock, California, and still supports the Niners’ brother team.

7. “The Bachelor”‘s Ben Flajnik

The Season 16 Bachelor is a vintner in the Napa Valley, and makes the trek down to Giants country whenever he can.

Weezy is a sports fan first (and a local to New Orleans) but he has a soft spot for the Giants. The rapper came out to sing (er, wheeze?) “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” in an October 2012 game.

9. James Hetfield

The Metallica rocker is perhaps the biggest Giants fan on this list. The band is so amped on the Giants, in fact, that they are hosting the Second Annual Metallica night May 16. They fairly regularly perform at the stadium too—check out the vid below.

10. Bob Saget

A fan in both fiction and real life, Saget regularly rocks the orange and black.

It’s well-known that the Victoria’s Secret model Miller is a 49ers fan, but the local is also a Giants fan too. The Santa Cruz native threw out the first pitch in a 2010 game.
