Whew! That was a wild week in the news once again, and we have the recaps to prove it! Catch up on this week’s buzziest stories, from the myth of Slender Man to a musical Larkspur high school, to the latest developments in @HiddenCash. Check out the stories below.


Two 12-year-old girls claim the mythological Slender Man caused them to attack their friend

A couple of 12-year-old girls in a Milwaukee suburb attempted to kill their friend this week after reading an internet urban legend about “Slender Man,” a faceless, long-limbed phantom who stalks people. According to the report, they wanted to become his “proxies” and believed killing their friend would serve as a sacrifice to the character. Thankfully, the victim survived the attack.


The millionaire behind @HiddenCash is revealed

Thanks to a voice analyst hired by Inside Edition, the tour de force behind @HiddenCash, a mystery millionaire who had been hiding money around San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and Los Angeles over the last couple weeks has been revealed. The Samaritan is a real estate investor named Jason Buzi, and though his identity has been uncovered he (and the five other millionaires involved) have no plans to stop their cash drops.


People are attacked at random in San Leandro by “Wilding” Crowds 

A group of people in San Leandro are randomly attacking people in what they’re calling “wilding.” As a San Leandro police Lieutenant stated, the unruly teens are “coming out to intimidate and commit crimes of opportunity and are attacking the victims in packs.” Yikes.


Colin Kaepernick signs a lucrative deal with the San Francisco 49ers

Colin Kaepernick, young Quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers, finally reached a deal this week when he signed a $110 million dollar-6 year contract. The 26-year-old is now one of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league.


A High School in Larkspur lip-dubs Black Eyed Peas’ “Let’s Get it Started”

About two thousand kids attending Redwood High School in Larkspur banded together to create one of the biggest lip dub videos ever to the Black Eyed Peas’ “Let’s Get it Started.” If this isn’t an epic send-off to a graduating class, we don’t know what is.
