Amber Rose: ‘When I Have Sex with Girls, I Prefer Bigger Women’

"I prefer a girl that has big legs... that’s very sexy to me. I’m a woman and I prefer that."

Amber Rose took to her podcast, Loveline with Amber Rose, to talk about her personal experiences as well as the harsh tendencies of many to body-shame others. Joined by co-host Dr. Chris Donaghue, Amber detailed a particular moment she had recently when listening to a judge’s critique of her latest performance on Dancing With The Stars.

“Julianne [Hough addressed] a point in the dance where I had to lift my leg up and Maks [Chmerkovskiy] dipped me, and she said ‘Oh, I’m uncomfortable,’” Amber recalled. “I instantly felt body-shamed because all of the beautiful professional dancers that are on Dancing With The Stars dress very sexy and they do the splits. They grind up on these guys and they look absolutely stunning but they get a standing ovation for it. For me [though], my body, my hips, my a–, my breasts made her feel uncomfortable.”

“I feel like it was because my body was too voluptuous, which my body is, you know, a normal woman’s body—breasts, hips, a– – most women are not built like professional ballroom dancers. I don’t know, it kind of made me sad,” said Amber.

Amber promotes being comfortable with both one’s body and one’s sexuality. The latter subject came up during the the part of the show where she takes calls from listeners. One caller was uncomfortable with her own weight and had questions about her own sexuality and confidence with partners.

“When I have sex with girls, I prefer bigger women,” Amber responded. “I prefer a girl that has big legs, a– … that’s very sexy to me. I’m a woman and I prefer that. There obviously are men out there that enjoy that as well.”

“The hidden message in that is that your body is not okay,” Donaghue commented. He is a licensed sex therapist and offers plenty of insight through the course of an episode. Transitioning back to the body shaming Amber went through, he added his own opinion to the conflict between Amber and Hough.

“You put Amber Rose dancing to a song… how is she going to look and how is she going to dance?” He said. “It’s 2016, I don’t want to see boring, traditional styles, period. If you weren’t on [Dancing with the Stars], I wouldn’t be watching it because I would be bored with a lot of the other people on there and the kinds of things they are doing. I want to see something new and dynamic.”

Amber doesn’t harbor any negative feelings towards the judge but she did want to make sure her point was getting across.

“I’m not mad at her,” she said. “I’m an activist, feminist, this is what I do, I educate. I want to educate her and let her know why that was offensive. I really want to have an opportunity to talk to her.”

Amber went as far to invite her to join in on her upcoming event, the Slut Walk. To listen to the full discussion as well as their advice, listen to the full show on CBS Radio’s
